The Naked Hoof believes that a great many saddles offered for sale are not helpful to a horse's back. A number of popular saddles available allow for limited contact with the horse at a few points of pressure. Other saddles deliver the weight-bearing load more evenly (like western riding saddles) but are restrictive in turning and bending.

We believe that the new half breed saddles will become one of the best all around riding saddles you can use on a horse. We realise that present rules and regulations disallow the use of these type saddles in various competitions, but then again, these same type competitions have never really had the best interests of the horse at heart as they only allow bridles with bits and shod horses.

SAD2570 - SAD2572 $2600 The Rocky Special has been designed to fill a gap in the market of the Half-breed style of saddle. Using the standard western style panel that features stainless steel in skirt rigs and genuine sheep-skin linings we have taken a fresh approach to the seat & swell area. Breaking away from the standard we have used more traditional methods with the knee pad arrangement and fitted them pad on flap so we can now offer flexability to suit the individual riders needs. The seat will automatically place the rider in a sweet spot and comfort will be felt. The correct seat combined with close contact and fender will give the rider the edge be it for competition, work or play. Sizes available : 15", 1 6"& 17". Available With: Medium chamber only. The tree has been designed to carry stirrup bars and combined with a P.V.C strap behind the fender allows for maximum movement. A larger pad and a cheyenne roll have also been fitted to add more security. The saddle is fitted with a "c" type inskirt rig and features stainless steel fittings. Available in 16". Sheepskin lined.
